"Listen, Bob Dylan uses a bloody autocue!"
I've yet to find a bad Thompson bootleg, but this is especially good. Sound quality is not the best, although perfectly listenable. The performance absolutely sparkles, however.
A remarkably loose and relaxed set from the man's birthday sees several unexpected additions to the setlist, including Sam Jones, Dog Eat Dog In Denmark (a comic retelling of the story of Hamlet), a rare outing for the classic Don't Sit On My Jimmy Shands and an impromptu rendition of Twist & Shout whilst repairing a broken string. A genuine delight, one of those discs that just brings a big smile to your face.
