What is Broadband?
Broadband is a high speed always on technology which gives connectivity to
the internet at a fixed monthly price, and still allows use of the phone line
for voice or fax calls. The download speeds range from 256 kbs (kilobits per
second) to 8000 kbs. The service is digital based and runs over the copper wires
from an analogue phone line, making installation quick and cheap. For most
companies utilising a fax line is normal, and they can still send the faxes.
Requirements for Broadband
Customers need to be close to a Broadband enabled exchange. You can check your number by calling us on 0845 638 7171. If your number is accepted, you need to have an analogue phone line to run the service down. There are some phone systems which Broadband will not work with such as ISDN and Business Highway.
For customers with ISDN and Business Highway we offer a fully managed
conversion solution.
